This place has been on my wishlist for a long time and it certainly delivered. We didn’t understand some of the ingredients but with guidance from the helpful waiter, we managed to put together a really tasty dinner. A personal highlight was the deep fried pig’s ears; think pork scratchings but 10x better! We decided to be brave and go for the famous steamed egg, pork fat and port caramel dessert and were rewarded with a delicious, sweet and savoury, unctuous pudding.
The restaurant itself is unpretentious and fairly small; we were quite amused to be able to see the kitchen whilst queuing for the loo.
It’s a lovely, relaxed place – if I lived closer I would be there all the time!
