I have mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, the cooking was very accomplished and refined, with interesting and seasonal ingredients. But there were some disappointing hard root vegetables and somehow we managed to spend more money than we were expecting to. The pricing is a bit above that for your local neighbourhood brasserie (and well justified given the quality of the cooking); I just wonder whether Fitzrovia can support this type of venture. I appreciate having another good option in the area but I am not sure how often I would go. Still, Pied a Terre and Roka are still there so maybe it’ll all be ok for The Ninth…
Price: Mid-expensive
Rating: Good
Value for money: Fairly priced, but veering towards a bit expensive
